Dickens Opera House 2015 Wedding Show

{Real Parties}

I love when an event all comes together due to the high caliber of the wedding professionals involved.  The Dickens Opera House has never looked so lovely.  I was happy to put this successful wedding show together.

Lighting and Design by Scott set up their "LOVE" letters as well as some colorful uplighting on the stage.

Candlelight Ambiance styled a beautiful mock reception table. Linens, glassware and table settings compliments of All Events Rentals.

Chair covers were arranged through Seated Elegance.

Another mock reception table was designed by White Tree Events.  What fun geometric shapes!

A scrumptious array of hors d'oeuvres was provided by The Dickens Opera House

La Momo Maes brought the treats.

Here's my booth.  I went with a pink, gold and teal theme.

I had lots of fun crafting paper flowers with glitter, painting vases and making big balloon streamers.

Photo Booth of the Rockies set up a super fun Photo Booth area with props galore.

My friend Reverend Kim Tavendale was there.

Ehren Dodson showcased some of my favorite jewelry via Stella and Dot.

We had two great photographers at the show.  Nicole Nichols Photography

and Hillside Studios, who generously provided all of the photos that are viewed in this blog post.

I look forward to planning Dickens Opera House's 2016 wedding show!

Red and White Little Bird Booth

The photos are not of the highest quality since I took them with my phone, but I wanted to share some pictures of Little Bird Celebrations' booth at last Sunday's Wedding Preview and Vendor Showcase at the Dickens Opera House.  Little Bird Celebrations offers pre-made party kits, custom party styling, party planning, wedding planning and wedding coordination.
I went with a blue and red color scheme since my logo is blue and I had some red decor elements left over from my daughter's Strawberry Shortcake party, such as the big red balloon, streamers and straws.
I found this adorable red bird cage on sale at Hobby Lobby to fit the Little Bird theme.
Red Velvet cupcakes were purchased at Target and I added cupcake flags in blue, scallops and glitter red.
Other decor and party supplies included mason jars with daisy cut lids, red and blue paper straws, wooden spoons embellished with red polka dot washi tape, red dessert cups with dome lids and red and blue taper candles.  Contact me to order any of the featured party supplies.
I made business card envelopes out of mini chevron paper bags and red polka dot washi tape.  These were hung with clips on a red tissue paper fringe garland in front of my booth.
Please let me know what you think of my red and blue party theme.  Thanks for reading!

Kissing Booth

I was running out of new ideas for The Dickens Opera House bridal show booth this last weekend.  Then I decided to take advantage of the post-Valentine's Day left overs and sales.  I had red and pink giant balloons left from my daughter's birthday party the week before, these things last weeks to months!  Then I saw a post on Tater Tots and Jello for a free printable for a "kissing booth" banner.  I had the idea of setting up a kissing booth backdrop and I would take photos of the couples and post to the Dickens Opera House Facebook page.

I added pink and red tissue paper garland to the balloons' tails.
I handed out Hershey's Kisses chocolate, of course.
Not only was I able to find Valentine's candy on clearance but also appropriate decor.
I made props out of glittered foam.
Two willing Kissing Booth participants. :)

Wedding Photo Shoot by Jesse La Plante

I was introduced to Jesse La Plante Photography at the Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expo.  Jesse and I started talking and thought that the Dickens Opera House, where I work, would be a fabulous venue for a wedding themed photo shoot.  Jesse would add some beautiful shots to his portfolio and we would gain some important marketing pieces for the Opera House.  I am blown away with how these pictures turned out! Take a look and let me know what you think.

I would highly recommend contacting Jesse La Plante Photography.  I would also like to mention that the intricate gown was on loan from The Bridal Connection of Longmont and Suzie's hair was done locally at The Spot Salon.  I would love to show you around the historic Opera House in Longmont, if you are ever in the area!

Same Love, Same Rights Denver Gay & Lesbian Wedding Expo

The Dickens Opera House (and I) recently had the honor to be participating vendors at the Third Annual Denver Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expo.

The expo took place at the Denver Magnolia Hotel Ballroom.  The room was very contemporary but had character.  High ceilings and lots of windows made the ballroom look expansive and they can fit up to 200 guests. (The Dickens Opera House can accommodate up to 300.)  Large pillars and crystal chandeliers gave the room a regal look.

Since the expo took place right before Halloween, I went with a fall-themed tablescape.  Sometimes I feel as though orange and black is overdone at Halloween, so I chose a black, silver and gold color palette.  We had the black feathers and gold vases from a wedding we had done and the gold picks from a previous bridal show.  I added gold and glittered pumpkins and leaves

I knew I wanted to give out some sort of edible goodies and found pumpkin spice Hershey's kisses in gold foil wrappers.  I embellished them by displaying them in mini gold cupcake wrappers.  I also passed out gift certificate cards good for $100 off a room rental which I decorated with silk flowers and pearl tacks.

Everyone is welcome at the Dickens Opera House and likewise, Little Bird Celebrations is excited to help plan ANY type of event.  Same Love, Same Rights!

Wedding Preview and Vendor Showcase

{Real Parties}

I had the pleasure of arranging a showcase of some local Longmont wedding and event vendors at the Dickens Opera House on February 12th. We invited brides and event hosts to visit with us at this 2nd Annual Wedding Preview and Vendor Showcase.

Thanks to all of the vendors that showed up to make the room look beautiful! All Events Tent and Party Rentals provided all of the tables, specialty chairs, specialty linens, table settings and decor for the stage "ceremony."  Atmosphere did a great job on the floral centerpieces.  I had told her that I wanted to showcase a "tangerine tango" palette, as that was the named Pantone Color of the Year.  Thank you to the very talented Susannah Storch Photography for taking the majority of the photos below.  Each bride that rsvp'd prior to the event received a free place card/photo frame courtesy of Kate Aspen, which we at Little Bird Celebrations are happy to have a supplier account with.  The Dickens Opera House delighted guests with a tapas buffet and a flowing champagne and cranberry fountain.
